Market Place at Plymouth and Ikea – North America

400 Alan Wood Rd, Conshohocken, PA 19428

With all types of environmental management concerns, zoning questions and traffic design issues, the site planning for the Plymouth Meeting Ikea and other major tenants such as BJ’s, Home Depot and others at the location required us to dig into all aspects of our land development toolbox. With the plot previously occupied by a massive steel manufacturing plant, the environmental planning took first priority. Robert E. Blue Consulting Engineers, P.C. worked closely with zoning authorities to carefully accommodate construction, parking and traffic circulation in an already environmentally sensitive location, while also allowing the existing Plymouth Creek to remain unobstructed and run freely beneath the site. Located on one of the busiest traffic interchanges in the greater Philadelphia area, our experts took charge from the initial planning through zoning appeals and approvals, and monitored construction of the Ikea, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Home Depot, other “big box” retailers and more than 1 million square feet of space.
