There may be no more complex confluence of roadways in the Philadelphia area than the area of West Conshohocken, where the Schuylkill Expressway and Blue Route merge around the Tower Bridge complex. So when it came time for land development in the area, Robert E. Blue Consulting Engineers, PC used all of its expertise in civil engineering, zoning approvals and variances and stormwater management to make the project a success. The complex — which includes 3 Tower Bridge, 6 Tower Bridge, 8 Tower Bridge and a large Residence Inn by Marriott — required many zoning variances and approvals from local, state and federal agencies. On the banks of the Schuylkill River, the project also focused on stormwater management and regulated floodplains, while also including meetings with neighborhood residents to properly communicate the scope of the plan. Robert E. Blue Consulting Engineers, PC was also responsible for an emergency evacuation plan for those who work in the Tower Bridge complex, providing a proper safety plan in the event of catastrophic flooding.
